Golden-hour clouds over an open sky

About

Gear Adrift

Gear Adrift is about lifelong exploration expressed through creative work and conversation.

Welcome.

Gear Adrift isn't simply a music project or photography portfolio.

It's a lifelong exploration documented through songs, photographs, field notes, and creative conversations.

There is no right place to begin.

Simply follow your curiosity.

The Creative Compass

Explore. Wonder. Share. Reflect.

The Creative Compass isn't a map.

A map assumes you know where you're going. A map assumes the territory is known. I don't.

For me, the journey isn't about arriving at answers. It's about remaining oriented toward a deeper understanding. The more I explore, the more I realize how much is undiscovered.

Like a compass, these four directions are always available. You don't have to start at the beginning or follow them in order. You can begin anywhere, move in any direction, and still find your way.

Select a direction to explore

There will always be another horizon to explore.

I think that's part of the fun.

The person behind Gear Adrift

Who is behind this

A fellow participant

I'm a songwriter, photographer, and lifelong learner who finds joy in paying attention.

Some of my favorite moments have come from slowing down long enough to notice something I would have otherwise walked past—a conversation, a trail, a song, a photograph, a night sky, or a story hidden in my own family history. Those moments have taught me that curiosity often reveals more than certainty ever could.

I am not a teacher. I am not a guru. I am not an expert.

I'm simply a fellow participant—and a host—inviting others to pull up a chair around the fire so we can share stories, ask better questions, and enjoy the journey together.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something here that encourages you to look a little closer.
